Our COVID-19 Response

The Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C) is now suspending all non-emergency dental treatments and services.

To comply with the College and the state of emergency currently in place in this province, we are postponing all non-emergency treatments, including:

  • Cleanings

  • Fillings

  • Non-emergency root canals

  • Check-ups

However, if you need emergency care, we are still available at 403-381-1155 to book an emergency treatment.

What does this mean for me?

For now, this means that your appointment will likely have to be postponed. If you’re unsure whether or not your appointment falls under the ‘emergency’ banner, please call us at 403-381-1155.

If you are booked for a cleaning or other non-emergency appointment that falls within the next month or so, be aware that you will have to re-schedule. We will be making every effort to call each of our clients to re-schedule.

You may have to wait a little longer when calling us, as our call volumes are higher than usual — we apologize for this and ask for your patience.

Reschedule Your Appointment

However, if you are experiencing pain, we encourage you to call our emergency contact number — 403-381-1155. We can talk you through your issue, offering advice on how to treat your symptoms, and, if necessary, schedule you an emergency appointment.

What qualifies as a dental emergency?

Emergency dental treatments can include:

  • oral-facial trauma

  • significant infection

  • prolonged bleeding or pain which cannot be managed by over-the-counter medications

Also, if you’re experiencing problems that will worsen without prompt treatment or poses a risk to your health, we will book you in for an emergency visit.

What can I expect during an emergency visit?

All patients who are scheduling emergency treatments should expect to go through a pre-screening over the phone. This pre-screening will follow AHS screening directions, including asking about recent travel, or presentation of symptoms. The ADA&C is currently developing further screening for patients to ensure the health of both our employees and our clients.

Thank you so much for your understanding during this situation. We look forward to serving your needs in the future!
